My work focuses on the study of the predictability, variability and behaviour of long-lived Rossby waves in order to improve extreme weather event detection beyond 10 days at the southern hemisphere. Rossby waves are deviations, meanders of upper-level strong westerly winds that are considered precursors of extreme weather events.
